November 24, 2020 - The Government of Nova Scotia announced the closure of recreation centres in the Central Health Region until December 10. The closures affect 3 of the 4 planned sessions so the program has been cancelled.

Program Details:
Each session of the 4-Week program includes 50 minutes of on-ice skating development.
For all levels of Hockey and Ringette players aged 8-14 years-old.

Program Curricula:

Starting – using body positioning, blade pressure, and stride direction to accelerate.

Straights – using body position, blade pressure, and stride direction to effectively push off the skate to build and maintain straight away speed.

Corners – using body position, blade pressure, and stride direction to effectively push off the inside and outside skate to build and maintain speed through cross-overs
