Landonedge Speed Skating

Skating with power + efficiency requires the proper combination of body positioning, blade edges, and stride direction to build and maintain speed on straights and through turns.

 

Landonedge Skating is founded on Todd Landon's 20+ years experience as a certified + chartered high performance speed skating coach.

Summer Programs Curricula:

  • Starting – use body positioning, blade pressure, and stride direction to accelerate.

  • Straights – use body position, blade pressure, and stride direction to effectively push off the skate to build and maintain straight away .

  • Turns – use body position, blade pressure, and stride direction to effectively  push off the inside and outside skate to build and maintain speed through cross-overs.

  • Technical Evaluation - an introductory video assessment of technical competency and development.

Information

  • Skaters aged 10 and older on July 1, 2025 with 1 year of competitive experience and with 400m less than 1:00.00 or 500m less than 1:10.00.

  • RBC Centre, Dartmouth

  • 7 x 1.5-hour Ice Sessions

  • Thursdays July 3rd to August 21st (no session on July 24th)

    • July 3: 5:30pm Dryland | 6:30pm Ice​

    • July 10: 5:30pm Dryland | 6:30pm Ice

    • July 17: 5:30pm Dryland | 6:30pm Ice

    • July 24: No Session

    • July 31: 7:00pm Dryland Testing | 8:15pm Ice

    • August 7: 6:15pm Dryland Testing | 7:30pm Ice

    • August 14: 5:00pm Ice

    • August 21: 5:00pm Ice

Fee:

  • 7-Session Package - $300.00

  • Individual Sessions - $60.00

  • You can choose to attend individual sessions or register for the full 7-session package. Please complete the sign-up form to pick your sessions. Once your sign-up form is submitted, Landonedge will follow up by email to arrange payment via e-transfer.
