2019 ATLANTIC LONG TRACK CAMP

DECEMBER 27-29, 2019

HALIFAX EMERA OVAL

Register by Friday December 20, 2019

Kick off the Long Track season or begin a new skating adventure by immersing yourself in three days of fun and activity on the Halifax Emera Oval.

 

Sanctioned by Speed Skate Nova Scotia the camp offers 6+ hours of long track training and instruction, 3+ hours of dryland activity, and 2+ hours of presentations.

  • Friday December 27: 4:00pm-6:00pm

  • Saturday December 28: 7:00am-4:00pm

  • Sunday December 29: 7:00am-1:00pm

  • Draft schedule

 

For skaters aged 10+.

 

Coaching is lead by Todd Landon, Chartered Professional Coach, with several years of experience developing long track speed skaters as Provincial Coach with the Manitoba Speed Skating Association and Long Track Coach with the Canadian Sport Centre Atlantic. Assistant coaching will be provided by certified and/or trained speed skating coaches with experience coaching and/or competing at Canada Winter Games and national competitions.

Required Equipment:

  • Skaters 15 years of age and over should wear equipment compliant with Speed Skating Canada's rules D3-200 for Long Track Olympic Style Competition.

  • Skaters under 15 years of age should wear equipment compliant with Speed Skating Canada's rules D3-300 for Long Track Mass Start Competition, and D3-301 for Additional Protective Equipment for Participants Under 15 Years of Age.

 

Cancellations:

  • Cancellations prior to the December 20 registration deadline will receive a partial refund.

  • Cancellations after the December 20 registrations deadline will not receive a refund.

  • No refunds will be issued if any parts of the camp are delayed or cancelled due to weather.
